One page websites for Wisconsin plumbers
Nobody standing in water reads your website. They scan it for a phone number.
A plumbing customer is the fastest deciding customer in the trades, because the damage is happening while they decide. They are on a phone, one handed, at an hour nobody wants to be awake, and they will give your page about five seconds before they hit back and try the next name. So a plumber’s page has one job above all others: be dialable instantly, and say something in that first screen that makes them believe you can stop this.
- $299 one time, then $9 a month
- You see it finished before you pay
- You own it the day you pay
Where the calls go
Three places a plumber’s site leaks jobs.
None of these are design problems. They are all decisions about what goes first.
It opens with your founding year instead of your phone number
Proudly serving Southeastern Wisconsin since 1998 is a fine sentence, in the footer. At the top of the page it is costing you emergency calls, because the person reading it has water moving across a basement floor and your history is not what they came for.
Your master plumber number is nowhere on it
In Wisconsin a plumbing license is issued to a person, not to a company, and it cannot be transferred (Wis. Stat. 145.07(5)). Which means licensed and insured on your site is a sentence the homeowner cannot check. Your MP number they can check, in thirty seconds, on the state’s own site. Almost nobody in this trade puts it on the page. That is free ground.
Your page says drain services. They typed basement floor drain backing up
Homeowners do not search in service categories. They search in symptoms, in whatever words they would use talking to their brother in law. If those words are not on your page, you are relying on Google to make a translation it has no reason to make.
What yours needs
What a plumber’s page needs that a generic one will not have.
This is the part that changes per trade. A roofer does not need any of this.
- A shut your water off block, above everythingTwo lines and a photo of a typical Milwaukee basement main shutoff. A homeowner who has stopped the water is a calm caller who waits for you instead of dialing four more numbers.
- Symptom language, not service categoriesNo hot water. Toilet running all night. Water coming up the floor drain. Sewage smell in the basement. Written the way it gets typed at nine at night.
- Your master plumber licence number, and the state lookup linkNot a badge graphic. The actual number, with a link to license.wi.gov so they can confirm it themselves.
- Your real after hours terms, printedWhether you take calls at 2 AM, and what the after hours rate is. Saying the number out loud is your best weapon against a shop advertising a drain price that is not real.
- A basement sectionSump pumps, battery backups, ejector pits, backwater valves, floor drains. In this town that is not a subcategory, it is a season.
- A water heater block that answers repair or replaceIt is the most searched planned job you get, and the homeowner is already trying to work out whether fourteen years old means done.
- A lead service line section, if you do that workMilwaukee Water Works is replacing lead service lines and runs an owner request program with city cost sharing. Those homeowners are getting letters and looking for a plumber, and most plumbing sites here say nothing about it.
The work
Six builds. Look at them on your phone.
Whole pages, not screenshots of the good bit. Scroll any phone and you will see every section your customer would.
Scroll inside a phone to see the whole page
Business names, phone numbers and addresses in these shots have been changed. The layouts, the type, the photography treatment and the code are the real thing, exactly what ships.
How it works
I build it first. You decide after.
Same for every trade. You never pay for something you have not seen finished.
You call or text
Two minutes tells us both whether this is worth doing. No pitch, no discovery session, no calendar link.
I build your site
From your Google listing, your photos, your towns, your real jobs. Three to five days, usually.
You look at it on your phone
I text you a link. It is the finished site, live, not a mockup. Sit on it a week if you want.
You want it, it’s $299
Your domain gets bought in your name, the site goes live on it, and everything is yours from that moment.
You don’t want it, we’re square
You pay nothing. No invoice, no drip campaign, no follow up six weeks later.
Questions
Questions plumbers ask me.
I am on call. If the page says I answer at 2 AM, am I going to get woken up for a dripping faucet?
Only if the page is vague. I write the after hours block to say what you actually take at night and what waits until morning, in your words, with your after hours rate on it. Homeowners self select on that better than you would expect. The ones who read burst pipe, sewage backup and no heat at night, everything else at seven, mostly call at seven.
Can I put my master plumber number on the site? Is that a bad idea?
It is the best idea on the page. Wisconsin issues that licence to you, not to your company, and the homeowner can check it in thirty seconds. Putting it up is the difference between claiming you are licensed and proving it. I put it in the header and link the state lookup next to it.
Half my calls are drains and everyone around me advertises ninety nine dollars. Do I have to match that?
No, and I would not build a page that pretends to. What I would build is the honest version: what your drain call actually includes, what it costs, and what makes it go up. The cheap number in a competitor’s ad is usually a first few minutes, first twenty five feet price with fees stacked after the van is in the driveway, and homeowners have been burned by it enough to recognise the trade. Being the one page on the street with a real number on it wins more than matching a fake one.
Winter is my whole year. Can the page change for it?
Yes, and for a plumber it should change about four times a year. Shutoffs and outside spigots before the first freeze, burst pipes in January, sump pumps before the thaw, basement backups after the summer storms. You text me the swap and it is live the same day. That is the $19 plan, and plumbing is the trade it was built for.
More on pricing, the plans and how ownership works is on the main page.
